A real community

Community is when a group of people are together in one place. Usually these people have something in common, such as a university that most of them attend, or a church. People tend to have similar beliefs, race, or ethnicity when they are in a community. People in a community live near each other, work together, and spend time with each other, forming relationships.

Net Worth

It was fairly easy to find my net worth, because I don't have any investments just a savings account, a checking account and an unused credit card.

Online vs. Physical shopping

I would never buy clothes, food or furniture online. Ever. First of all buying food online I is disgusting, it's not fresh. The food was probably freeze dried at some point just so that it wouldn't rott before it got to you. As for clothes go, how do you know whether or not that clothing type will fit you, or look good on you? I would rather have the satisfaction of knowing what I'm buying is what I want. And furniture is a given. I need to know the size of the piece and whether or not it is comfortable.

Three items I would prefer to buy online would be a computer, books or music. I would prefer to buy these online because there are often better deals and because I can get my music and books faster online.

Vanity Fair

I did a vanity search on google and my Facebook was the first item to show up. I also found information about my scholarships in the hospital journal as well as, information on my high school swimming records in the Shelton journal. My myspace profile came up, and plenty of information about my family members. It's amazing how much information about me is available on the internet. Fortunately, not enough information to steal my identity, like my social security number, was available.

My experience with HTML

I created an HTML web page a few days ago all about Zombies in spirit of Halloween and the new season of the Walking Dead. I actually had a pretty good time making the page. I came across a few problems moving my images around and changing my font color and size, but my boyfriend is a computer programmer and was happy to help me out. Please give us more assignments like this Professor Fry; it was easy!

Snail Mail Showdown

United States Postal Service (USPS) and e-mail have a lot in common. Both e-mail and USPS send and receive messages, programs and junk mail. Both of these competitors must go through processes and protocols in order to get to the recipient and make many stops along the way. Each communication system has specific routes and organization methods that make the system travel more smoothly.

United States Postal Service (USPS) and e-mail also have many differences. USPS requires stamps, while e-mail is generally cost free. E-mail is a much faster communication system; the mail can get to the recipient in a matter of seconds, while mail through USPS can take anywhere from one day to ten business days. All in all, e-mail is a much more efficient communication system.

Keeping up with Technology

I have a moderate amount of knowledge with computer systems/applications, mainly due to my field of work.I work in an assisted living facility in tumwater, and we are always using technology. I search for information on diseases and wounds, I use dynamaps and I look up patient information with the click of a button. Technology is very helpful.

In this course, I want to learn how to work with new applications that can make my life easier, both at work and at home.
